Trademark, Patent and Design Protection in Türkiye for Russian-Speaking Applicants

Applicants from Russia and other Russian-speaking countries protect trademarks in Türkiye through a Madrid designation or a national filing, and inventions through the PCT national phase or a national application. A Eurasian patent does not cover Türkiye, which is not a member of the Eurasian Patent Convention. We handle the Turkish procedure and report in Russian through our translators.

Trademarks

Russia and Türkiye are both members of the Madrid System, so Türkiye can be designated in an international registration. Since Turkish uses the Latin alphabet, protect the Latin-script form customers will see; protect the Cyrillic form as well if it appears on products sold in Türkiye.

Patents

A Eurasian patent covers the member states of the Eurasian Patent Convention, and Türkiye is not one of them. Protection in Türkiye comes from a Turkish national application, the national phase of a PCT application within 30 months of priority, or a European patent validated in Türkiye.

Designs

Designs can be filed nationally or through the Hague System, where Türkiye can be designated.
