International Application from Turkey
Regional Filings: Benelux, OAPI, ARIPO, Eurasian and GCC
Regional systems let one application cover several countries: Benelux for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg; OAPI for its African member states; ARIPO for English-speaking African states; the Eurasian Patent Organization for patents across its member states. For the Gulf, filings are made country by country. We choose the right route and coordinate it with partner attorneys in each office.
At a glance
- Who it is for
- Turkish exporters entering Africa, the Benelux, Eurasia or the Gulf, and foreign owners building a regional portfolio.
- What we do
- Route selection, filings through partner attorneys at BOIP, OAPI, ARIPO and the Eurasian Patent Office, and national filings in Gulf states.
- What you send us
- The mark, design or invention, the target countries and the applicant's details.
- Timeline
- Each office has its own timeline and terms; we confirm them in writing for your countries before filing.
How it works
Countries
You list the target markets; we map them to regional and national routes.
Route
We compare regional filing, Madrid or Hague designations and national filings.
Filing
Our partner attorneys file at each office; we keep the documents and deadlines in one plan.
Follow-up
We coordinate objections, oppositions and renewals for the whole project.
Benelux (BOIP)
The Benelux Office for Intellectual Property registers one trademark or design for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg together. National filings in these three countries are not available for trademarks and designs.
OAPI
The African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) gives one right in all its member states, mostly French-speaking countries in West and Central Africa. National filings are not possible in OAPI states, so OAPI is the only route.
ARIPO
The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) covers patents, designs and trademarks in member states that have joined the relevant protocol. A designated state can refuse protection under its own law.
Eurasian Patent Organization
A Eurasian patent covers the member states of the Eurasian Patent Convention through one application and one examination.
The Gulf (GCC)
For the Gulf Cooperation Council states, trademarks, patents and designs are filed country by country. We coordinate filings in the states you need as one project with one set of documents.
Documents checklist
- The mark, design views or invention documents
- Goods and services or products
- Applicant's details
- Legalised or notarised documents where an office requires them
Frequently asked questions
Can I protect a trademark separately in Belgium?
No. Trademarks and designs for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg are registered only through the Benelux Office (BOIP), or the EU or Madrid systems.
Is OAPI the only route for its member states?
Yes. OAPI member states have no separate national filing system; one OAPI registration covers all of them.
Is there one trademark for all Gulf countries?
Filings are made in each Gulf state separately. We coordinate them together, so you deal with one contact and one set of documents.
