Trademark Renewal in Türkiye

A trademark registered in Türkiye is protected for ten years from the filing date and can be renewed indefinitely for further ten-year periods. Renewal is requested in the six months before expiry or, with an additional fee, in the six-month grace period after it. We track your deadlines and file renewals for Turkish and foreign owners.

Duration and renewal

Under article 23 of Industrial Property Law No. 6769, protection lasts ten years from the filing date and is renewed for ten-year periods. The renewal request is made within six months before the end of the protection; if it is missed, it can still be made within six months after, with an additional fee.

Missed the grace period?

A mark that is not renewed lapses. Depending on the situation, a new application may be the only route; we assess the options quickly.

Renewal for international registrations

An international registration under the Madrid Protocol that designates Türkiye is renewed centrally at WIPO, not at TÜRKPATENT. We handle both and keep one calendar for your whole portfolio.

Can I renew for only some goods and services?

Yes. The renewal can cover all or some of the registered goods and services.

Do I need to prove use to renew?

No proof of use is required for renewal, but an unused mark can be revoked for non-use at the request of a third party.
