This Cookie Policy has been prepared, having regard to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”) and the Personal Data Protection Authority's Guide on Cookie Practices (2022), to explain the cookies and similar technologies used on the www.leopatent.com website (the “Site”) operated by Gordion Partners, which provides its services under the “Leo Patent” trade mark (“Gordion Partners”, “Leo Patent” or “we”). The identity of the data controller and general information on the processing of your personal data are available in the Privacy Notice (KVKK).

1. What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files placed in your browser by the websites you visit. In this policy, the term “cookie” also covers similar technologies such as the browser's local storage (localStorage). Cookies are classified as first-party or third-party depending on who places them, and as session or persistent cookies depending on their duration.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to work and to provide a service you have expressly requested. In this category, the Site uses only the “lp-consent” entry, which remembers your cookie choice. This entry is not subject to explicit consent; it is used under our legitimate interest (KVKK art. 5(2)(f)) to remember your choice and not to ask you again on every page.

Analytics cookies

These cookies help us measure how the Site is used and improve its content. The Site uses only Google Analytics 4 for this purpose. Analytics cookies are set only if you choose the accept option in the cookie banner, that is, with your explicit consent (KVKK art. 5(1)). Unless you accept, the Google Analytics code is not loaded on the Site and no request is sent to Google.

No advertising, targeting or profiling cookies are used on the Site. Fonts and video preview images are loaded from the Site's own servers.

• Google Maps: the map on the contact page is loaded only if you click the “Show map” button. Your browser then connects to Google; Google may set cookies under its own policies and process your IP address and browser information.
• YouTube: video preview images are served from the Site itself; nothing is sent to Google until you start a video. The video player (youtube-nocookie.com) is loaded only if you click on a video; during playback, YouTube may store data in your browser.
• WhatsApp, phone and email links: these links open the respective external services; processing in those services is subject to their providers' own terms.

5. Consent, refusal and withdrawal of consent

The cookie banner shown on your first visit to the Site offers the options to accept and to decline analytics cookies at the same level and with equal prominence; no option is pre-selected. Making no choice or closing the banner does not count as consent; in that case no analytics cookies are set. Declining analytics cookies does not prevent you from using the Site.

You may change your choice at any time with the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom of the Site and withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it. When you decline or withdraw your consent, analytics measurement stops and the Google Analytics cookies set through the Site are deleted. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies. If you delete or block the strictly necessary entry, your cookie choice cannot be remembered and the cookie banner will be shown again.

7. Retention and transfer abroad

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Data collected through analytics cookies is processed by Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) and Google LLC (USA) as data processors. The use of analytics cookies is based on your explicit consent; the related transfer abroad is made in accordance with the appropriate safeguards provided for in KVKK art. 9(4) (standard contract).
