About Leo Patent

Burak Ünal is a patent attorney (TÜRKPATENT reg. no. 1677) and a trademark attorney (reg. no. 2900), registered in 2024. He advises Turkish and international clients across the full range of trademark and patent attorney work: searches and filings, responses to office actions, oppositions and appeals, renewals and recordals, and international filings under the Madrid, PCT and Hague systems.

He previously worked at Oliver Wyman and in financial advisory, a background that shapes how he looks at a portfolio: not only as a list of filings, but as business assets with costs, deadlines and commercial value. A Chevening Scholar, he holds an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics (2019) and a BA in Business Management from Boğaziçi University (2016). He works in Turkish, English, French and Chinese and is a member of PEM.

Kaan Karanfiloğlu is a trademark attorney registered with TÜRKPATENT (reg. no. 2909). At Leo Patent he handles trademark matters before the Office, including clearance searches, filings, oppositions, responses to refusals and appeals to the Re-examination and Evaluation Board (YİDK). A graduate of Galatasaray High School and the Galatasaray University Faculty of Law, he brings a careful legal reading to every specification and every line of argument. In his own capacity, he is also a lawyer registered with the İstanbul Bar (no. 58270) and the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (no. 133074). He works in Turkish, English and French.
